… the beautiful sea

From our home in downtown Raleigh to “toes in the ocean” is two hours. For a Hoosier native, that’s close to heaven.
My first visit to the Outer Banks was 1975, the year Jaws debuted. Since then, I’ve grown much more confident about the ocean.
Our favorite spot is Ocracoke but more often than not, we end up at Wrightsville Beach in the fall.

A morning beach walk, waterside lunch, afternoon painting session, and sunset walk are hallmarks of our daily routine. Watching the harvest moon rise over the ocean can’t be duplicated in Indiana.
Sorry, Midwest. A lake doesn’t come close to the roar of the Atlantic.
