Abundance

Thanksgiving seems to be the quintessential American holiday. Yet its sentiment is universal.

Many countries and cultures have similar celebrations. The harvest is in, there is food to be had, and it is time to be grateful.

But abundance is not guaranteed.

Too many famines brought on by drought, flood, and/or war are with us this year. Many bellies will go to bed unfilled and lives upended in the quest for food.

Migration is the result of many social ills but the primary one is the need to feed one’sJuly Corn family.

In this time of plenty – in this land of plenty – let us be grateful and generous to those without.

25% of my sales this month will be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

I hope you will make a purchase but even if you do not, please remember your own food bank and donate.
